Called "one of Israel's savviest pollsters" by the Washington Times, Mitchell Barak's opinions and surveys are regularly quoted in leading publications like the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Financial Times, Economist, Newsweek, Los Angeles Times, CS Monitor, Haaretz, BBC, Al Jazeera and many others.
Mitchell has also held a number of appointed positions within the Israelis government. Most recently he was the international media advisor and spokesman for Israeli President Shimon Peres. Previously he served as a speechwriter and communications assistant for Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, and was an adviser to Finance Ministers Yaakov Neeman and Dan Meridor. Additionally, he worked as an aide to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the Foreign Ministry and Prime Minister's Office during the tenure of Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir.
A New York native, Mitchell holds a BA degree in Political Science and Psychology from George Washington University in Washington, DC. He lives with his wife and their seven children under the age of 12 in Jerusalem. His hobbies are running, biking, photography and music, but he enjoys fatherhood and husbandry most.
