Mitchell Barak
Mitchell Barak is a pollster, strategic communicator, and messaging expert. Called an “Israeli-American public opinion expert” by the Wall Street Journal, his opinions and surveys have been quoted hundreds of times by leading publications like the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Washington Post, Bloomberg, Foreign Policy, Politico, The Globe and Mail, Haaretz, Jerusalem Post, and many others. He also appears regularly on the BBC and Al Jazeera as a guest analyst.
He founded KEEVOON Research, Strategy & Communications, a global survey research and strategic communications firm based in Israel. He has conducted survey research projects, both qualitative and quantitative, in a variety of countries and languages. His clients have included the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, Embassy of Poland in Tel Aviv, Federation of Local Authorities in Israel, Luntz Global, Benenson Strategy Group, Morning Consult, Municipal Innovation Center, iVoteIsrael, Walla News, Israeli Ministry of Public Diplomacy, FTI Consulting, Mikhailov & Partners Moscow, Mastercard, and TikTok.
A polling tech entrepreneur, he co-founded MOBOPINIONS, a UK-Israeli technology start-up that has developed an innovative platform for polling, profiling and targeting mobile phone users. In the past four years he has fielded more than 8 million survey research questions in 160 different countries, all in-APP on mobile devices.
As an Adviser to the Minister of Innovation and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia, he directed communications and strategies on issues related to innovation legislation, entrepreneurship, regulation, communication, budgeting, programs, international collaborations, tech parks, and media.
Mitchell held a number of appointed positions within the Israeli Government including as international media adviser for Israeli President Shimon Peres, speechwriter for Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, and as an adviser to two Israeli Finance Ministers, Dan Meridor and Yaakov Neeman, during the tech growth period of the late 1990s. Additionally, he worked as an aide to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the Foreign Ministry and Prime Minister's Office during the tenure of Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir. He previously worked for BRM, a leading Israeli Venture Capital firm founded by MK Nir Barkat.
A New York native, Mitchell holds a BA degree in Political Science and Psychology from George Washington University in Washington, DC. He lives with his wife and their eight children in Jerusalem. His hobbies are running, photography, and music, but he enjoys procreating, fatherhood, and husbandry most.
